Troubleshooting
Fix buffering and storage issues on Android TV
Buffering is not always an internet problem. Android TV can also stall when internal storage is nearly full, app cache is damaged, USB storage is slow, or the media format is difficult for the device to decode.
Diagnose the cause
| Symptom | Likely cause | Try first |
|---|---|---|
| Online video buffers | Wi-Fi or app cache | Restart router, clear streaming app cache, test another app. |
| Local video stutters | Slow USB drive or unsupported codec | Copy to internal storage or try another file format. |
| Apps freeze | Low internal storage | Delete duplicate downloads and unused apps. |
Fix sequence
- Check free storage before changing network settings.
- Restart the TV and router to clear temporary network and playback issues.
- Clear cache for the problem app, but avoid clearing app data unless necessary.
- Move large local media to USB or another device.
- Use Orvexa Media Player for simple local playback tests.
