Beginner APK Guide
Beginner guide to sideloading apps
Sideloading means installing an Android app from an APK file instead of directly through a store app. It is useful for testing, direct developer releases, and Android TV workflows, but it should be done carefully.
Basic sideloading steps
- Download the APK from a trusted source.
- Transfer it to the device using USB, browser download, or Orvexa Share.
- Open it with a trusted file manager such as Orvexa Files.
- Allow unknown-app installation only for that file manager when prompted.
- Install, test the app, then disable unknown-app access again.
Beginner mistakes to avoid
- Installing from pages with many fake download buttons.
- Leaving unknown-app access enabled permanently.
- Deleting the wrong files while trying to clean up installers.
- Ignoring permission prompts because the app name looks familiar.
